Areas of Expertise
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapist (EMDR)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy treatment that was originally designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories (Shapiro, 1989a, 1989b). After successful treatment with EMDR therapy, affective distress is relieved, negative beliefs are reformulated, and physiological arousal is reduced.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapeutic treatment that helps people learn how to identify and change destructive or disturbing thought patterns that have a negative influence on behavior and emotions.
Through CBT, these thoughts are identified, challenged, and replaced with more objective, realistic thoughts.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
The term "dialectical" comes from the idea that bringing together two opposites in therapy -- acceptance and change -- brings better results than either one alone.
DBT combines standard cognitive-behavioral techniques for emotion regulation and reality-testing with concepts of distress tolerance, acceptance, and mindful awareness largely derived from contemplative meditative practice.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) teaches mindfulness skills to help individuals live and behave in ways consistent with personal values while developing psychological flexibility.
Practitioners of ACT help individuals recognize ways in which their attempts to suppress, manage, and control emotional experiences create challenges. By recognizing and addressing these challenges, individuals can become better able to make room for values-based actions that support well-being.
My Approach
According to the American Psychological Association, “Psychologists help people of all ages live happier, healthier and more productive lives.”
It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the client and caretaker.
I opt for an eclectic therapeutic approach which helps me tailor particular therapeutic techniques according to the needs of those I work with.
I implement evidence based psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding and insight and equip them with effective tools which help the clients to adopt new attitudes and feelings in order to cope and deal effectively with various obstacles.
